3Ds: PSP Killer? -TheSixthAxis

The latest handheld, the battle has been won for a long time, but may be a second, much more intense and interesting one around the corner.

The original Fish stubs outside of the PSP has been cleaning the hardware sales and very bad for software sales. Recurring, tweaked, near-disaster of iterations which was leading to the PSPGo is not helped it get a lot more traction in the West. Even in Japan "Go is often embarrassed by the sales charts for the takenevassa so much more than its competitors.

Piracy has been a big problem for the older models, and the uniform prices and less supported (at least of third parties), followed by the latest firmware for the digital distribution model, all had a deleterious effect on the Sony is a powerful little console image.

The Nintendo console is another story. The piracy problems have not made a similar same effect from the sale of the software (though it is sometimes played an important role in the fight), a slow burning flagship titles, which maintains a number of months, even years, longer than the normal industry with their retail price. DS-area relatively cheap production costs means that Nintendo had to make a profit on the very early days and it has long been the market leader in the total number of unit sales.

But it is all history. Handheld race is hotting again, a large mobile gaming market kahmaisu shovels the casual and dedicated to Making the West News on Apple's handhelds with Zorn.

Nintendo 3DS is the entry into force of the water. Is probably fair to say that the Nintendo 3DS has had lukewarm reception. Critics are cynically moaned about the strong first-party launch titles, and all line up, despite the lack of contrast, sales seem to have been good as expected. At least We were told to "sell" the wait seems to take place far away. It has yet to make money, of course, with the recent reckonings, that production costs were $ 105.

The Coordination Centre for the over-stated development group could determine whether the problem has also been a bit of a character to the start. At the same time, it is almost certainly not as big a problem as some would seem to imply, it is the bad press around the console to start and which is never good.

But 3DS makes so many things right now, it has lost its PSP graphical superiority of (one or two labels aside, what I have seen, the 3DS, is equal to or greater than the PSP-standards) of ageing, it is difficult to see that the old dog left in life.

The title is, of course, 3D-gimmick. It is impressive, when it was just right and you will probably see some very interesting and to respond to the use of in the future. I do not think it is a killer feature. To me the power of the 3DS ' font size, the solid construction and the fantastic analog controller (circle Pad) all in the form of a solid base, which allows the console to the familiar and the company's position.

I think augmented reality functionality is intended to be a lot of interesting and important property specifies the name of the future. AR gaming only begins to take off from the beginning of the Apple iPhone to another serious and its use, move the Kinect (start party, EyePet, etc.) and even by pushing the spotlight to the PSP (Invizimals). I'm certainly industry analyst, but I think it is more in the future, as is the 3D AR and the Nintendo 3DS is the first handheld computer, even the first dedicated console, start the wizard.

However, we shall, at least in 3DS Max is a connected lifestyle. Add friends to the new system is still not perfect, but it is a huge step in the right direction. Combined method to play with friends are all there to make the best of the box to the right developers. SpotPass and StreetPass functions, as the case may be, to make mobile social media-device (though in a limited way), and the desire to play the modern demand or printed. These are all things that are either older standards or decent improvements for new implementations, which is wise to ignore.

Now is the life in the fall of the PSP. Success (at least critically) franchises Metal Gear Solid, and the God of War feel very similar to the perspective of a technology platform with instances, rather than a continuous barrage of software quality. The release of the 3D face off PSP with a longstanding interest of graphical and iOS devices are targeting the market more relaxed stability will be the end of the increasingly difficult to see if YOUR PSP can Score victory.

Sony is the NGP will appear in the bags.Of course, this all leads us to the Sony handhelds for the next generation. Seems that the powerful PSP DS value fought a hard battle of gimmicky has taught the Sony experience possible. Looks like a monster, the NGP and the power that the properties. Once again, it will go significantly less powerful, gimmicky, computer to compete in the market. But this time may be different.

Sony will invest heavily in security to prevent doubt, piracy. Even if nothing ever is going to be in the future to ensure respect for the principle of the pirate freely, they should be able to buy a decent head start themselves hackers. The physical media that they would return at least learned how the lack of success on the PSPGo and flash memory instead of the expensive lessons taught, the battery drain of proprietary disk format is ready: o-brainer. Two big hurdles, then jumped in.

Multiple input options (buttons, touch, gyro, rear contact, etc.) may become overused and messy, but they also give developers a huge freedom to experiment with and make much more immersive experience. Even though they might be crammed on each of the game only because they are available, they can expect to improve the game and the player's creative interface between. The important thing is that there is a hardware option.

NGP also displays the same property is specified, any more (thanks to 3 g), 3DS connections. Wi-fi hotspots and 3 G signals are becoming more common to the host organism to most major cities, NGP has the opportunity to be constantly connected, constantly updated and evolving, even if it sits in your pocket.

But it is in the future. Today, the battle of portable, which was largely already done in the new DS decisively won by player. In the future, the market seems to be interesting, if Sony can establish their plans and to refine the NGP, during their manufacture. So it's safe to say that even if this battle has won the war, Nintendo, and Sony is still in progress in the development of a new tank is.

For The PSP? Well, I think it is time for a nice quiet pension, while a new generation of export weapons.

Crysis 2 (A) the achievement of the Gorgeous Gaming-the Saint

This week I had to get my hands a copy of the Crysis 2 for the Xbox 360.

Even if it released for the PC and PS3, most of my friends call Xbox home, so I felt obliged to pick up 360 this spring's hottest release version.

Crysis 2 has created a lot of buzz around the world, as well as playing the out-of-the-box. Its predecessor, Crysis, originally released in 2007 for the PC was the incredible graphics, and only the upper end of powerful computers can run the game.

I am the first person to play Crysis. Now, in 2011, I do not have a computer that must be able to use it. Even Crysis 2 deserves praise, that what it has done.

This time around at Crytek, developers decided to release their game consoles in the design of their opening up to more players in the franchise.

Ultimately, they succeeded. You can spend your time, you won't be able to play Crysis 2 beset the alien soldiers and overzealous PMC in Manhattan sets. You can enable the Alcatraz, U.s. Marine, which is a shareholder in the experimental "nanosuit" that augments your talents.

With the force makes a Nanosuit reckoned, because it has the ability to make the invisible, add your armor and superhuman speed and strength.

Crysis 2 the console to see the graphics is the best ever, and the Manhattan building amazing details, such as the United States Census Bureau, the city is torn. Buildings crumble and send the debris and the flames in each direction.

Guns to behave realistically and shall take into account before the entry into force of the recoil and guns blazing in the distance.

You can experience the enemies behave realistically, and, for the most part. Your enemies are a group of people, and they can, you can clear the flank or grenades with if you give them a chance.

An alien who your enemies are not so much, but it is much more nimble than the average trooper hops on top of the cover of the PMC, and to move at a faster pace than that reserved for the gun.

Sometimes you see running blindly into the trooper to the wall or throw grenade of the legs, but these errors are rare.

If you are running a multiplayer game is a real bang is buck Crysis 2. Call of Duty or Halo reach fans find themselves at home here.

Found items are fast-paced and popular game types are here again. Provides a typical capture the flag, Deathmatch, and transformations, the multiplayer feature to keep you busy for a long time after you win the campaign mode.

Crysis 2. Is new, it is here, and it deserves to play.

Game day: Nintendo adds a new dimension to the game glasses free 3DS-Sacramento Bee

Nintendo 3DS to play 3-D games without special glasses.

The different versions of the Nintendo DS has sold as many units (more than 130 million around the world), that it may be difficult to remember that, when it was released first in 2004, it had met with bafflement and skepticism.

But Nintendo knew what it was doing, and even if it was a moment of the game's developers to understand the potential of the two displays, touch screen and a pen, now it is difficult to imagine the device without them.

Effect of bending of the eye may be a little bit, especially amphetamines, and Nintendo recommends players who are younger than 6 to activate the effect at all. (Parents restrict it, the system of access control.) Some of the games in the 3-D to Add only a little, but the other seems to be fantastic.

The device contains a gyroscope and accelerometer for motion sensitivity and control layout features analog pad digital cross pad. The system has three cameras – one in front and two behind for taking stereoscopic photos.

Uhmakas Map Pack for Halo reach may keep fans busy with hundreds of millions of hours-VentureBeat

Watching the game between the fans of grouse have to pay $ 10 for three other Halo multiplayer map for each new map Pack, Bungie, Halo: reach comes out of Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console game. Then you go and play it straight million hours, until they are quite a lot to memorize the detail of the map and gutting rivals with ease.

The period is about to start from the beginning of Halo: reach uhmakas Map Pack, Microsoft released today. But instead of trashing Bungie, these fans is sling mud grudging at Microsoft. Microsoft Game Studio, 343 Industries and certain affinity map pack team were responsible for getting This out the door to the map pack. 343 Industries is the first official act than can be done in other games, moving worlds development Studio Bungie, who created the agricultural environment of the Halo series.

As we have in our recent stories in the map packs, do one of the company is not nearly as large as the new game. But it is important when creating the sequel to appease the fans, and it is of the opinion that the revenue which We will focus on the many resources of care and feeding of Halo franchise created well over 40 million units, and almost 2 billion dollars in sales. Halo fans have been played by more than 3.3 billion hours of Xbox Live. You have a picture that this new map pack will produce hundreds of millions of more hours of entertainment for players. It is the plan for the years to come the big Halo revenues between all part of the game.

And the Map Pack is a Nice defensive measure in the video game industry these days. If the fans are the map pack, you are not playing a new game with a competitor or another map pack, such as the one of the founders of Activision Blizzard, the number of the Call of Duty series. So map pack has to be designed just to the right. It may not be too easy for the players to the master, but must also be challenging.

Frank O'Connor, 343 Industries head told us the video interview that often does not trust the words of the players when they describe what they would like to see the map pack, you create. This is due to the fact that they say, they play frequently, as the case may be, is different from the game, which shows how the collected information. Analytics is essential to ensure that the map packs are balanced and fun.

Uhmakas Map Pack for Halo reach is another Halo reach, an Xbox 360 game that launched the year of the last times of the Halo universe created by Bungie lot. The map pack is the first Firefight mode, as well as Halo reach. That is, where you can fight in cooperation with other human players and computer controlled enemies at you, which are still pending against the masses of all die. Prey 2 officially announced the PS3, 360, PC-Computerandvideogames.com

Once again developed by Human Head Studios, Prey 2 is scheduled for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012, with an exclusive reveal due in the next issue of PSM3.

No gameplay details have been offered yet, but it's confirmed that the game is being developed using "the cutting edge id tech engine from id Software," which we assume means id Tech 5.

It's not the first time the game's been announced however - previous rights owner 3D Realms announced the sequel for Xbox and PC back in 2008, when the plot was set to shove players back into the boots of Tommy, the reluctant hero of Prey who saved Earth from alien invasion.

"This time, abandoned and framed for the disappearance of his family and girlfriend, Tommy escapes an Earth that no longer wants him for a future that cannot survive without him", was the word on the storyline.

Some artwork even appeared online - and you can see it on this very page.

Bethesda parent Zenimax was seen to have snapped up the rights to the franchise - which was previously owned by Duke Nukem house, 3D Realms - back in 2009.

"We are thrilled to be working with Bethesda on Prey 2," said Chris Rhinehart, project lead. "Prey 2 will provide gamers the opportunity to explore a new facet of the Prey universe, one that offers fast-paced action in an open, alien world.

"We're excited to show gamers the title we have been working on and hope they will be as excited by this title as we are."

We quite enjoyed the original, so this is good news for us. The original Prey review, if you're interested, lives here.

function print_article(id) { window.open('/print.php?id=' + id, 'print', 'width=500,height=600,scrollbars=yes,toolbar=no,resizable=no'); } function email_article(id) { window.open('/email.php?id=' + id, 'email', 'width=484,height=420,toolbar=no,resizable=no'); }   i'll check this out.

first one was ok at the time.

cant believe its taken this long for a part two, the first game was amazing!i'll check this out.

first one was ok at the time.

Wow, that was a bit from left field...

The first one was a bit of a gem - quite enjoyed taking murderous revenge on an invading alien mothership.

That bit where you have to kill that robot boss that's attacking you which has your missus surgically attached to it was quite twisted. You're basically forced to kill your girlfriend. Nice.

^^ my favourite bit of the game that. The introduction was classic, an interactive bar, arcade machines etc and then abducted to the theme of "Blue Oyster Cult" Dont fear the reaper.Goddamn - I just read back that sentence. It's a wonder you understood what the hell I was babbling on about :?2006 :? ?!

Wow this generation has been going for sometime now!

Thought the first really was a classic, the bit that you guys are talking about was awesome but there were loads of great standout bits in the Game, the very beginning when your in the bar was awesome too!!

Looking forward to seeing more of this one :D !

Loved the first one.

It was unfairly compared to Portal at the time, just because the portals were fixed in place and could'nt be used anywhere you like.

Many favourite section in the game, such as the 747 appearing out of nowhere on the ship after being teleported in, (if you've played it you know what i mean) or the bit where you can see a miniature planet inside a glass dome, only to go through a portal and find yourself on said planet looking out at an alien looking down at you, (blimey is that as confusing as it sounds).

Anyhow, looking forward to a sequel :D

Many favourite section in the game, such as the 747 appearing out of nowhere on the ship after being teleported in, (if you've played it you know what i mean) or the bit where you can see a miniature planet inside a glass dome, only to go through a portal and find yourself on said planet looking out at an alien looking down at you, (blimey is that as confusing as it sounds).
I'd forgotten about those bits. Yeah, that bit with the sphere you run around on with the alien looking at you was quite odd!

Apart from that, though, I'm not so sure the portals really did much for the game. I'd be content if they weren't in the next one.

Oh, and then there was that scene where you see your grandfather get minced. Lovely.

I'm currently jizzing from every orifice, Prey I don't cover you!Yep, looking forward to this as well. The first one was a bit of an undervalued gem.The first game was OK, though the later stages where the zero gravity kicked in were very "meh". It had some interesting ideas but most of them had little effect on what was essentially a very standard FPS with an obsession with the anus and vagina (seriously guys, no more doors shaped like either) and a handful of memorable set pieces.I liked the first game but have only got about 1/4 of the way through it as I got so many other games to play at the time and simply forgot about it. I must return to it at some point and try and finish it. Maybe this summer when theres the usual summer dry spell for games I will get the chance.Loved the first one, it was out at a time when there wasn't much else to play on the 360, lets hope the 2nd one can compete now there are loads of decent games out thereInteresting, the first one didn't exactly set the world alight but it was still a great little game. I'll be keeping an eye on this! The introduction was classic, an interactive bar, arcade machines etc and then abducted to the theme of "Blue Oyster Cult" Dont fear the reaper.
That was one of the standout moments of this gen so far imo.It wasn't until ready the comments above that I remember just how much I enjoyed this game. Cheers gamers.

Hmmmm, my contribution to the memorable moments would have to be the doors that, certainly at the time, were the finest example of a interactive anus rendered in a computer game!

It was a good game. Played it thrice to the end. Best parts were jumbo coming in and that alien looking at you at that small planet. and Yeah, i did fired at Tommys behind after watching him going into a portal.

Zero Gravity, still awesome, better then Deadspace.

I love the first prey game and can't wait for the next.I loved Prey. It nailed the tricky 'alien apocalypse' theme, and while simplistic, the storyline was strong and clear with no unnecessary garnish. The game featured a host of interesting ideas which it didn't quite capitalise on, but I'm hoping Human Head will expand upon these and add more in the sequel. It always amazes me that there are piles of Prey copies selling for ?2.98 individually but coated in a layer of dust.Yeah man, Prey was a neat little game. I found it really novel to be put in the shoes of a native American and then get sucked into an alien mothership. As others have said, lots of stand-out moments ... and Art Bell on the radio! Nice touch that. I'm made even more excited about this sequel by the prospect of an "open, alien world". I know it's not everyone's cuppa but man, open world games totally butter my toast. That was a disturbing game. Didn't they kill children in this game quite graphically... well... crying in a room above then a scream with blood dropping hrough grates above your head?yep. The game was pretty grim from start to finish. Bloody brilliant though. I didn't think it sold that well though. Still happy there's going to be a sequel. This just in ... " has been in development for quite a while and id Tech 5 is still in progress (until Rage ships, and probably even after). So it really wasn't an option," Bethesda's Pete Hines told IGN.

However, the software, in whole or in part, the sales decreased by 8% in February, 637.44 million dollars.

Speaking of software, Call of Duty: Black Ops, again held the top spot on top of sales, NPD found. In addition, the Department that specifies the start date of the record sales last year and hit 1 billion dollars of the total sales volume of the availability of the first six weeks, has reached yet another milestone.

"It has now become the best-selling game in the history of the grape juice, comparison, Wii Play," said Anita Frazier, NPD's statement. The actual sales figures are not forwarded to the NPD.

At the end of the Black Ops in February was the Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of paper format, Just Dance 2, Wii, and NBA 2 K 11. Dead Space 2 is rounded out the top five.
